It's the same with my 3.2.

Very calm (especially females), very unlikely to bite unless there's food around. However, the need for solo housing needs to be emphasized.

I had a lady call me to come get a "rattlesnake" from her yard I got there and found a male vagrans. I was going to take it up the canyon near her home for release but had to get to work so I took it home and put him in my huge outdoor enclosure. I had a gopher snake in their that someone else had brought by but I figured the enclosure was large enough that they would never even see each other before I got home. Well I was wrong, but at least the garter got a good meal right.

    Don,
You're the T.e.vagrans man. Have you had any trouble with canabalism? (And keep me in mind for a little one when the mountain garters finally breed)

luckily I haven't had any issues with it...but vagrans will eat other reptiles. I have had them eat lizards and have seen pics someone took of a vagrans eating a lined snake. they might be breeding size by this coming winter.... hopefully!
