    they can definitely be more finicky eaters, however there are several breeders that should have babies. captive born babies can do ok once they are feeding good. There are also plenty of other species of garters that are easier to care for and not as finicky (and a little cheaper).

    plains garters are very easy to maintain, along with easterns and oregon red spots.
