    That's awesome!
There is something *very8 satisfying about catching a wild snake, weather or not you intend to keep it! I hope she (Or one of her possible babies) turns out to be a 'keeper'.

She's in Vermont at the moment, visiting gandparents for the summer. And so, she really has no idea how she would possibly transport it home (we live in Oregon.) I'm not sure it's the best choice for a keeper - it's pretty aggressive and striking when they get too close to the cage.

I advised her to put some hidey things in there for the snake, so maybe it will calm down if it feels less stressed - but still I'm not optimistic about this being a good pet for a little girl - and even if it was... not sure how she'd go about getting it home - seems like more effort than it's worth.

If it turns into a keeper (Or one of the babies is.) I'd put it in a firmly tied fabric pouch and keep it in a shirt pocket or fanny pack close to me. Most airlines are cool with transporting pets so long as they are properly and safely contained. (Check airline guidelines of course.)

I took Abby with me on a road trip to Pennsylvania and back. She rode in a plastic lock top file box lined with paper towel with a pet dish to hide under and hold water at our destination. She took it all in stride.

*If* she ends up wanting to bring one home, drop me a message and I'll mail her one of my prototype 'Slither Sacks'- I'll put a neck strap on it so she can wear it around her neck and keep her pet safely close to her heart during the trip.

I took one of our most cherished garter snake(Lucky) to Applebee's. While the family ate dinner, Lucky stayed in the backpack right next to me. All the times I checked on her she appeared to be sleeping.
My kids laugh about that all the time. They say she's probably the only garter snake to sit in a booth at Applebee's.
