    End of Oct is more appropriate really if you ask me. It's hunting season, and most crops are done, and harvested by then.

    Beginning of October is the right time like our celebration.

    No, with a closer view on it, weīll see that those are to different celebration, similar but still with different meanings.

    Here, most crops seem to be harvested by early September and the hunting season starts on August 1 and ends on July 31.

    Okay Stefan,
    there is no important agriculture in the far North but hunting season all year. Maybe there is another date to celebrate life cycles, isnīt it?
    Whatīs about Midsummer?

    Oh, there is agriculture. It's just that the growing season is just 121-181 days, depending on where in the country you are. I think it's something like 250-280 days where you are.

    Midsummer is already taken. Officially by John the Baptist.

    Yeah, I almost added that midsummer was theirs until the 1300s.

    It's essentially the same with all holidays, including the one people just celebrated in late October and the big one coming up in just under a month.
