    Thats an incredible find. I'm so jealous that you have different color garters where you are at. Seems like here they are all one huge family since they pretty much ALL look the same, no pattern, no color variation, no nothing, just yellow stripe, black along the upper middle, and light beigh on the sides and belly.

    I wanna come over there take some different kinds home with me to manitoba

    Eastern Plains Garter Snake

    Pretty much half of what you will find here, the other half are red sided, but they aren't brilliantly red, just red spots down its sides.

    Well then you must have been kidding about the snakes jumping into the van and hitching a ride when you visited Manitoba. Remember that story? Coming back from Canada, the Officer looked into the car and asked "where's the snakes?" and one of your kids said "back in Iowa" LoL.
