Thanks. I see that now.
Not sure what size snake you are going to be getting but I would think there is an area between the mesh and the front of the vent that would be a hiding place for a small snake.
Just something to keep in mind.

Is Joe your inspector? Looks like he's keeping an eye on things.

No gap face plate sits directly on the mesh and there is only 10mm from front of face plate to mesh
And no small snakes just Martha for the time being
