    The color of the shed is a bright clear and has no markings. It's hard to describe. Next time my albino sheds and a regular sheds I'll keep them both and post them side by side.

    There's markings. It's really barely different than a normal shed in most cases. I really don't see how someone finding a skin in the wild can determine with any certainty that it was from an albino snake. If it had no markings, it's more likely it wasn't from a garter at all, or it was from a patternless melanistic. Also, I've seen northwesterns before as they were getting away and could have sworn they were melanistic. Coming back later and capturing the snake proved I was wrong. Just turned out to be a very dark individual with low contrast.
