    Re: T. radix Ranch 2014

Yea yesterday i found a salamander in my yard under a rock with leaf litter and i brought it in for a closer look and was near the tanks and in led than a minute all 4 of them was out flicking there tongues and climbing the walls so i got out some pinkies i had left and now i got 4 happy bulging sunning Thams. I was quite surprised because my 2 younger ones don't seem to ever want to eat but they got a nicer bulge yesterday. I got a question about the salamanders (i may have asked this before) but they a quite abundant (salamanders) where i grabbed all of them (the garters) would anyone see a problem feeding the garters salamanders every one and a while...maybe once a month if i freeze them for a month or so to reduce the parasite concern? I'm sure they all have some parasites being wc but no vets i called wanted to deal with seeing them (i don't think any of them deal specifically with snakes or at least not garters. Sorry to hijack but I didn't think to start a new post until i was already done writing it all. Lazy i guess

Wild salamanders and frogs will introduce parasites to your snakes. We have a varied diet of safe food we can feed our friends so I don't see a need to feed the salamanders off.
Amphibian Eco-systems are very delicate and should be left alone, in my opinion.

They are not just snakes. They're garter snakes.
