    Re: brumation enclosures

This is a picture of our brumation last year. We put the adults in plastic boxes of 40cm X 50cm and young garters in smaller boxes. In the boxes we put wood thing (don't know the name ) and dried leaves. We make it very moist, well not soaking of course !! We don't put a waterbowl in.
Then we put the boxes in the space below our house (crawlspace ??)

This works perfect for our garters and we'll do it the same way anytime soon now

The place on your photo looks like the basement.
Crawl space is a nice despription of its extent
The wooden things in your boxes are looking like wood chips and cork oak bark.
    Allready waiting for the sommer

    Re: brumation enclosures

well i have just fed kia her last meal as sissle wouldn't eat so i will leave it about 3 weeks and then start lowering the temp. i will feel so cruel not feeding them concidering kia is a greedy bugga lol
i have the tetras in an exo terra plastic box about a foot long so i thing i will put the tetras in the marcys tank and the marcys in the tetras tank.
hopefully the tetras will grow a bit more i the bigger viv now.
i really cant wait to get the burmation underway just so i know i have done everything ok lol but i might have to bring sissle out early as he is quite a bit smaller than kia now.
