Just make sure there are no pesticides being used in your area!! otherwise.. yes of course it is safe When I had lizards, I used to run around all the time in the field across from the house, except... I don't use butterfly nets I use my hands

I bet from a passer-by's perspective I probably looked pretty funny stalking around a field... creeping up and pouncing on what appears from a distance to be nothing... lol!

That's the way I do it too!! Glad I'm not the only person in the world getting funny looks from the neighbours.

Ladybugs are toxic, too. Some/most of the beetles have a very hard outer wing cover that can be difficult to digest...potential for impaction issues.
