Lu - I have been over to your side of the pond, and the most direct and economical route is to go to JFK in N.Y. City and then take the shuttle to Elmira Regional Airport.

Unless you want a rental car, we can pick you up.

If camping should wash out, we have lots of extra room, sofas Hide a beds and a motor coach. (it's not road legal anymore, but it is comfy)

Of course anyone who travels that far should at least take a peek at some of the wonders near here.

We are out on the south west end of the state.

NYC / NJ is about 4 hours drive.

How does the 20th July 2009 - 03rd August 2009 sound??

I will be booking tickets from Manchester Airport to New York JFK Airport.
I will try and get a morning flight for the way there and the night flight for the way back.
I will speak to James and find out if he will be joining me or if he will be letting me fly alone.
Do you know how much the shuttle from NY will be and how long it takes?
As for 'Watkins Glen' I will stop at yours and cook tea for all the big boys to get back from their play
But i will be expecting some time to go snake hunting although i know that this will be happening lol.
How much will we be paying you for your hospitality?

The shuttle flights are inexpensive, Back when I did it in reverse, I drove a rental (Hired) car to JFK.

I hosted a forum meeting here about 5 years ago (Different unrelated)

At the time they organized it, 3/4 of the forum was to be here.

On the day we did it, 14 people showed up, Guess what? We still had a great time and talked about it for weeks after.

Made sure to rub the noses of every no show in it with pictures!

Lulu, that's great that you are already booking flights and making plans!

In my case, I'm definitely interested, but won't know for sure if I can actually make it until closer to the actual date. July 2009 is still a long ways off, but unless something major happens in either my finances or my personal life, I will be trying hard to be there.

If I want to go to the meeting (and I really like to) I have to make my plan now and start saving money or looking for a cheap flight.
It would be nice to fix a date and make some plans for the program.

Further it would be interesting to have even one European member with permission to im- and export snakes.
