Visitors on weekends is how we eat

So YES, and bring half of Jersey with you...

Honestly though, we do have folks who come out from your neck of the woods from time to time.

Really Fast, really loud, Hmmm what model 450 does he ride?

It used to be mostly YFZ Yamahas, but the other Japanese manufacturers have caught up with them.

He's got an '04 Honda. TRX 450 or Sprortrax 450 or something. Me, I ride 1 horsepower, 1996 Thoroughbred. I could let Mr. Roark poop on their lawn, too.

TRX 450 you have that right.

I think 04 was the first year they came out.

    Re: Neighbors think your nuts?

I'm too much of a worry wort to put my precious baby in a trailer with the quad, as I'd be paranoid he'd put a footpeg through his leg, or it would roll and scare him and he'd flip over in there or something. Talk about paranoid MOM!!!! I bought hubby a trailer for his quad, anyway. That was back when I had money, oh the good old days!

By the same paranoid token, HOW do you all take pics of your snakies LOOSE outside, on the carpet, on the flowers, etc???? I'd be TERRIFIED that they'll "run away" on me!!!!! (Yes, still picturing little hobo sticks lol) They are SO fast and little enough to fit so many places, and hide and burrow so well!

I only take my bigger / slower species outside for photo shoots.

Corn Snakes and Pythons usually just meander along at a casual pace.

I only have one garter I'm comfortable (not complacently comfortable) taking outside and one that can just barely be controlled. Even when they're easy to handle indoors, it changes the second you let them loose outdoors. The remaining three garters are completely uncontrollable.

I take my photos in the middle of the yard, far from any bushes, fences, buildings or anything else where there might be a hole or an obstacle in case I need to chase the snake down. And I don't take my eyes off them for a second, I don't make any sudden moves and I don't stand directly over them, just in case it might spook them.

Hey, it's great fertilizer, they might actually appreciate it!!!

My Evil Neighbor complained, as we knew she would, when we moved the manure pile just a weeee bit closer to her property. She said she was inundated with flies this year because of it. Keeping in mind it's all of 20 feet closer than it used to be.

Oh, her sister called me a couple of years ago to help her place her cat. I was sooooooooo sweet to the sister and we found kitty an awesome home; I even picked him up and delivered him. Then her grandkids started asking if they could come see the animals, and I told them of course... just ask granny... they never came, and I wonder what mean old granny told them.

Steph, I'm supposed to be moving horses around today to different foster homes but it is POURING rain... I don't feel real comfortable trailering in the wind and rain. Hoping it'll stop soon. One of the horses is an OTT tb, who HATES loading.... can you see us out there slipping and sliding and arguing about who's getting on that trailer today?? LOL There's your giggle for the day!!

    Re: Neighbors think your nuts?

    Lori,
It always surprises me when the OTTTBs don't tolerate something. My guy gave me fits about loading for a while, and I can't imagine why. It's not like the races came to him!!!!! I like that about the OTTTBs, they've pretty much seen and heard and done it all. You can run heavy equipment around my guy, chainsaws, none of it spooks them. But he is still a silly horse, so he freaks out at *leaves* blowing on the ground by his feet!

do you have a stock trailer available? I find my reluctant loaders do much better with a stock than a straight or slant, especially if they have enough room to turn around, and you can walk them out the front.

Brenderup makes the COOLEST trailer, it has a door up front to walk the horse out. One thing I found is that horses that won't go in somewhere forward will back into the same spot. So a reluctant loader, you can back him in the front door, and voila!!!! Hey, if you're using a stock trailer with a ramp (do they even have those?), try that, back him in, and turn him as you need.

When we get a farm, I'm going to need company for my Roark. I'll let you know when we're ready, so you can keep an eye out for another horse/pony for me!
