They are not just snakes. They're garter snakes.

ooohh yellow. Of all the wandering pics I've seen, the yellow one's are my fav. Other than those, I think they're pretty boring and drab.

ha ha- you're right, it's no contest- just matters of opinion. I like em bold- whether it be patterns or colors- I just like the bright ones- reds yellows blues oranges- it's like I'm a fish and I see something shiny.

Well, a garter doesn't always have to be "flashy" to get my attention, but it helps! I actually kinda like this one. I used to have an ordinoides that was very close to that. For the longest time, I thought it was a wandering garter until someone set me straight. (It was outside their range and I actually thought maybe it "wandered" lol) It even had the black neck.

Looks aren't everything to me either. I value certain aspects of "personality" behavior, and disposition too. I've had some very pretty concinnus in the past that just couldn't stand, and got rid of them just because of their annoying habits or bad attitude but that's rare for their kind. Most are very sweet like a radix.

    Don,

Very nice, the latter wandering almost looks granite like. Great grab !
