    Wild Thamnophis

Again, I am new here. I am on a few herp forums but I think it's really cool that you guys have a forum just for Thamnophis. I have always felt that these snakes were very overlooked and underrated.

Since this is Thamnophis heaven, I am sharing some wild garter pics I have taken in the past two years. I don't have any captive garters but I love finding them in the field.

    Thamnophis sirtalis infernalis

    Thamnophis atratus ssp. (intergrade)

    Thamnophis atratus zaxanthus

    Thamnophis cyrtopsis

    Thamnophis elegans terrestris

    Thamnophis sirtalis infernalis

They are not just snakes. They're garter snakes.

I am active of a number of forums and groups (FHF, NAFHA, CRIS, etc.) but I just discovered this Thamnophis focused group and it looked like a fun and active forum. Thanks for having me. In all honestly, I am a Crotalus enthusiast above all else. Most of my travel is focused on the buzztail species but I never met a snake I didn't like and the Thamnophis are beautiful and underrated snakes for ssure.

Well, I recognize a couple of those forum names, but I'm not active on any. I used to peruse FHF and CRIS pretty regularly and someday would love to participate with the Central Valley spin-off of CRIS, but other things in life keep me too busy for now. Someday I'll have more time... someday I have a feeling we likely have a friend and a few acquaintances in common. I'll run that by you privately
