    thanks for the vid it is my first year doing a true brumation. i did mine just like that but my refrigerator will only go down to 44. witch from what u sad in the past should still be ok,but in the bottom of my tub i used substrate ( carefresh ) is that ok or is it a bad idea for some reason.

    I don't think anything is really needed. I use a towel for the snakes comfort.
    I don't see where substrate would cause a problem unless the snake spills the water.

    If I have to change a towel it is quick and easy and doesn't require the snake to be in warmer temps for very long.
